A new study shows that gardens promote relaxation, stimulate memories, encourage activity and reduce agitation among residents who have dementia, according to an article on the Long-Term Living website. A garden might present hazards to residents, however, and staff members must allow residents adequate time to enjoy the outdoor space to its full potential, the study said.
