Gardner Health Services' investment in East San José came to fruition with the grand opening of its new Alum Rock Health Center. A centerpiece of the La Avenida redevelopment project, the 10,080-square-foot facility provides essential medical, dental, mental and chiropractic services to the Mayfair and East San José neighborhoods. The health center is open to all, regardless of a patient's ability to pay, insurance status or other factors like race, religion or homelessness.
The multi-million-dollar investment was designed to spur economic activity within the proposed La Avenida Cultural District, a community-driven initiative that celebrates East San José's heritage and its residents.
The opening comes with support from key partners, including the School of Arts and Culture, Santa Clara County, the City of San José, The Health Trust and numerous other community-based organizations like the Si Se Puede Collective.
