Good Samaritan Hospital again one of ‘100 Great Community Hospitals’ in the U.S.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital once again is included in the national list of “100 Great Community Hospitals” published by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The hospitals on this list are spread across the country, some not far from major metro areas and some in rural communities. Regardless of location or whether they are affiliated with a major system, these hospitals are vital parts of their respective communities, according to Becker’s.

Becker’s has published a version of this list annually since 2011. This is the fifth year the list has included 100 hospitals. For the purposes of this list, Becker's defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs.

The Becker’s editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Leapfrog Group. Included organizations have earned recognition from one or more of these organizations.

Good Samaritan Hospital has been recognized as a 100 Top Hospital in the nation by Truven Health Analytics seven times, including in 2016.

“This recognition is another external validation of the great quality, safety and service outcomes being provided to patients by the physicians, associates and volunteers of Good Samaritan Hospital,” said Dave Fox, president of Good Samaritan Hospital. “Congratulations to the community of caregivers at Good Samaritan for your commitment to patient-centered care.”

Added Dr. Charles Derus, Vice President of Medical Management at Good Samaritan Hospital: “Delivering high-quality, safe clinical care every day remains our top priority.”
