Scarborough Hospital has invested in a 776k combined heat and power (CHP) engine which will power a low-carbon energy system. The system is expected to save the North Yorkshire, U.K., hospital more than 500k annually, according to an article on the Click Green website.
The system will reduce carbon emissions by more than 2,100 tons per year.

Our sustainable development group ensures that we are consistently addressing energy consumption across all our hospitals, looking at everything from light bulbs through to the design of new buildings.
