Ground Broken on Acadia Geisinger Behavioral Health Hospital Project

It is projected to be completed in the spring of 2025.

By HFT Staff

Warfel Construction joined forces with Acadia Healthcare and Geisinger to commemorate the start of construction for the Acadia Geisinger Behavioral Health Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania.

This 72,578-square-foot medical facility is set to introduce 96 new patient beds and will serve more than 1.2 million people across 45 counties in Pennsylvania. With a focus on delivering essential care for individuals grappling with behavioral health disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), this facility will offer a beacon of hope and a path to recovery for adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients. This new hospital will also serve as a teaching hospital, training students and residents from Geisinger’s College of Health Sciences.

In addition to Warfel’s extensive behavioral health portfolio, this collaboration represents Warfel Construction's second partnership with Acadia Healthcare and Geisinger in the development of behavioral health hospitals. Geisinger and Acadia opened a similar hospital in Moosic in August 2023.

It is projected for completion in the spring of 2025.
