Guardian's SunGuard on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Auburn Hills, Mich. – Thousands of football fans flock to Canton, Ohio each year to pay homage to our nation’s greatest professional football players. Due to increased popularity and new exhibits, the Pro Football Hall of Fame recently expanded from 85,000 to 118,000 square feet and moved its main entrance to the center of the museum. As fans converge on Canton to view mementos from the biggest moments in football history, they pass through the HOF’s new main entrance, or “glass gate,” featuring Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral® 54.

Designed by Westlake Reed Leskosky, the new grand lobby features a dramatic, two-story glass atrium that will dramatically enhance the visitor experience. Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 54 covers the new main entrance and grand lobby, which was relocated to minimize the infiltration of outside air to help to precisely control the temperature and humidity in the museum.

SunGuard SuperNeutral 54 offers 54 percent visible light transmission and a low, 0.28 solar heat gain coefficient. The glazing brings abundant natural light into the lobby while managing solar heat, helping the staff administer temperature and humidity requirements critical to maintaining the facility’s one-of-a-kind, historic exhibits. The glass was fabricated by independent Guardian Select® Fabricator W.A. Wilson Glass Plus and installed by United Glass and Panel Systems.

Guardian SunGuard advanced architectural glass and Glass Analytics provide facade solutions that allow architects and designers to explore the aesthetic and functional possibilities of building with light while meeting complex energy, daylighting and LEED requirements.
