HCI Mourns the Passing of Todd Wilkening

It’s with a great deal of sadness that the Health Care Institute shares the passing of Todd Wilkening on June 11.

Most recently Wilkening had served as principal of FMAdvantage LLC, but his career in healthcare spanned more than 35 years of working directly with owners in property, facilities and construction management. For 19 years, he worked as facilities director at Ridgeview Medical Center in Minnesota.

Wilkening’s passion for the facilities management industry was well known by colleagues. He was a frequent contributor to industry publications, speaker at leading events, and a loyal member of the International Facilities Management Association and its Health Care Institute.  He was a mentor to many within the industry and eager to serve as a resource on industry best practices.

Wilkening has been a dedicated member of the HCI board and its predecessor, the IFMA Health Care Council, since the group’s founding. His roles included service as vice president of research for HCI, leading initiatives such as its benchmarking report. More recently he served as research and outreach chair for HCI Midwest.

The Wilkening family is holding A Celebration of Life for Todd Wilkening on June 23 at 1 p.m., at Grace Lutheran Church located at 7800 150th Street West, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Cards may be sent to Laurie Wilkening, 14610 Hanover Lane, Apple Valley, MN 55124.

In honor of Wilkening’s many years of service, HCI extends its condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.
