HGA Expands Healthcare Business Development Team in Boston


HGA is pleased to welcome Suzanne Abbott, LEED AP BD+C, as Associate Vice President in Business Development for the Boston office. She will direct new business opportunities and client relations for the Healthcare practice serving leading healthcare organizations in the Northeast region.

“HGA offers in-depth design resources to help healthcare organizations deliver superior services to their patient base,” Abbott said. “I am excited to join a great team and share our expertise with leading clients and their communities throughout the region.”

Abbott has more than 12 years of client management, business development, sales, and strategic planning experience delivering increased healthcare market presence for architecture, engineering, and construction firms nationally and throughout New England. 

“Suzanne’s ability to think strategically and her wealth of experience and relationships in this market will be integral to the evolution of our healthcare practice in the northeast in coordination with HGA’s 10 other regional offices around the country,” said Boston Healthcare Principal and Associate Vice President Candice Barter, AIA, EDAC. 

Before coming to HGA, Abbott was a Senior Business Development Manager with SMRT, Inc. in Boston where she provided strategic alliances and business opportunities for the full-service architecture, engineering, and planning firm.

Previously, she was Business Development Manager with Gilbane Building Company where she successfully defined strategic goals and business opportunities for the construction company’s Boston interiors market.

She has additional experience leading environmental and sustainable design non-profits, including the U.S. Green Building Council Massachusetts Chapter and EarthShare of New England. 

Abbott has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of New Hampshire.
