Healthcare design heals with help from nature

One constant that runs through best designs is green space


One constant that runs through best healthcare designs is green space, according to an article on the Fast Company website.

 

The American Institute of Architects recently named seven new stand-out healthcare facilities, all of which used nature as part of their healing strategy.

 

Healthcare designers from a diverse range of sources, but all include the power of plants to create an atmosphere that provides medical benefits. 

 

For example, at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Regional Ambulatory Cancer Center, the lobby is a garden room overlooking an upper and lower green space.
