Healthcare facilities with the cleanest patient rooms

At least 89 percent of patients surveyed reported that their room and bathroom were 'always' clean


An article on the Becker's Hospital Review website listed the 52 hospitals in the U.S.for which 89 percent or more of patients reported that their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS Survey.

Data was pulled from Hospital Compare and is from January through December 2013, the most recent data available.

The top 15 are as follows:

• Westlake Regional Hospital (Columbia, Ky.) — 98 percent

• Citizens Medical Center (Columbia, La.) — 96 percent

• OSF Holy Family Medical Center (Monmouth, Ill.) — 95 percent

• Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (Lake City, Iowa) — 95 percent

• Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond — 94 percent

• Blue Hill (Maine) Memorial Hospital — 94 percent

• St. Josephs Hospital (Breese, Ill.) — 93 percent

• Kirby Medical Center (Monticello, Ill.) — 93 percent

• Osceola Community Hospital (Sibley, Iowa) — 93 percent

• Mayo Regional Hospital (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) — 93 percent

• Bigfork (Minn.) Valley Hospital — 93 percent

• River's Edge Hospital (St. Peter, Minn.) — 93 percent

• Fostoria (Ohio) Community Hospital — 93 percent
