Hims, Inc. Expands to the Columbus Region, Creating 500 New Jobs

Columbus, Ohio – Hims, a direct-to-consumer digital health company working to increase access to quality care, has announced plans to expand in the Columbus Region, investing $1.5 million and creating 500 new jobs. Hiring for picking and packing, supervisors, pharmacy technicians, customer service and leadership positions will begin in Q2 2020.

Hims’ new facility will allow the company to bring order fulfillment in-house for both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products. To support the company’s growth, Hims will operate a 300,000 – 400,000-square-foot distribution center in the Columbus Region to house its licensed mail-order pharmacy, fulfillment center and customer support center. The company is currently in the process of finding a permanent location, with plans to put its investment towards machinery and equipment.

“At Hims, we want to make it easier for everyone to get the care they need,” said Andrew Dudum, CEO and founder of Hims. “The Columbus Region provides direct access to our customers throughout the US – including those in rural areas who may live an hour or more from an open pharmacy – as well as an impressive pool of talent. We’re excited to invest in the area as we work to expand access to affordable, quality healthcare for everybody.”

Founded in November 2017, Hims is one of the fastest growing direct-to-consumer brands and has raised over $200 million in funding since launch.

“With talent from the Columbus Region, Hims is evolving how consumers access quality health care,” said Dana Saucier, vice president and head of economic development at JobsOhio. “Hims’ expansion in Columbus brings 500 new jobs that will strengthen service for its fast-growing customer base throughout the United States.”

Thanks to a large pool of reliable and skilled talent, an integrated and collaborative supply chain, and top distribution and export capabilities, personal care and beauty operations thrive in the Columbus Region. The high concentration of retail and manufacturing talent in the Region is complemented by a highly integrated supply chain hub. The Region is home to the first-of-its-kind New Albany International Beauty Campus, which contains nearly a dozen companies that make up an entire supply chain.
