Hospital-based ambulatory surgery centers combine the best of both settings as they follow the same strict regulatory and quality-control guidelines that apply to hospitals, according to an article on the My Central Jersey website.
In the physician-driven ambulatory surgery center setting, physicians can schedule procedures without the need to accommodate unforeseen emergency surgeries, almost guaranteeing no delays in receiving treatment, the article said.
The Surgery Center at Old Bridge, N.J., is a good example of the best of both settings, creating a comfortable, controlled patient environment. Patients will be able to have their preoperative testing done at the pavilion as well as make appointments with the physician practices.
