Hospitals in Australia to give staff body armor

The Australian Health Department has purchased 250 custom body armor vests


Doctors, nurses and security personnel in West Australia will soon be issued body armor, according to an article on the Body Armor News website.

The Australian Health Department has purchased 250 custom body armor vests.

A health department spokesperson for the department said the vests are being designed to protect vital organs, reducing the risk posed by syringes and knives. 

Mobile panic alarms will also be provided to hospital staff, those going on home visits and to outlying nursing posts.
