Diligence is key to protecting equipment from damage and loss


Healthcare facilities must be diligent when maintaining residential security devices, according to an article on the McKnight's Long-term Care News  website.

 

The first step is to determine the essential tasks and their frequency. For instance, alert-based resident security systems should be tested when “stressed.” 

 

Checking in with the people using them most is also an important part of device maintenance.

 

A dead battery is the most common problem with security devices. Performing regular en masse battery replacements on all devices can avoid problems.
