IIDA Announces 5th Annual Healthcare Interior Design Winner


The International Interior Design Association recently announced VOA Associates Inc., now Stantec Inc., as the Best of Competition winner of the 2016 Healthcare Interior Design Competition for the project: Florida Hospital for Women, in Orlando, Florida.

 

This competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces. “This design team rose to the challenge of creating a distinct place of healing, specifically for women,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “Inspired by the femininity of nature, the facility offers a place of comfort for patients and their families with the use of soft lines, soothing colors and natural textiles.”

Projects were evaluated by a distinguished jury panel, including Michelle Clark, IIDA, RID, LEED AP, senior associate, Rees Associates Inc.; Suzen L. Heeley, IIDA, executive director, design + construction, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Lisa Herriott, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C, interior designer, project manager, UW Medicine | Harborview Medical Center.

The Best of Competition winner was announced and all winners celebrated during the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference Welcome Reception in November 2016. Winning projects are featured on the IIDA website. For more info, visit iida.org.
