Healthcare security departments should take a centralized approach to identity management and security access that brings together their existing HR, IT, and physical security infrastructure, the article said.

Adopting a new approach can be daunting, but doing nothing can be expensive.

Manually verifying, approving and maintaining access systems can be time-consuming, inefficient and error-prone.
