Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ind., has launched its own police department on site, according to an article on the CBS4 website.
Before having police officers, the hospital had armed security guards on staff. They would have to call the police agencies in if there were any issues.
The officers can now handle any situation themselves, even if it ends in an arrest.
There will be twelve officers who respond to all emergencies, disruptive issues and security rounds.
