Signs suggest that the market for indoor navigation and location-based services has reached its inflection point


There are signs everywhere that the market for indoor navigation and location-based services has reached its inflection point, according to an article on the FaciltyCare website.

A recent report by Research and Markets predicts that the global indoor location market will grow from $935.05 million in 2014 to $4.42 billion by 2019.

Hospitals could be early adopters of indoor navigation because these facilities can be complex and difficult to navigate. As hospitals are increasingly focused on the “patient experience,” ease of wayfinding can be a competitive differentiator.

But indoor navigation is really just the tip of the iceberg.

Other uses for location-based technology include concierge services, reducing patient wait times and asset tracking.
