Infection Control Today publishes environmental hygiene survey results

Survey reports on hospital leaders' and infection preventionists' concerns about barriers to environmental hygiene


Infection Control Today has published the results of survey the explored on hospital leaders' and infection preventionists' (IP) concerns about barriers to environmental hygiene, according to an article on the Digital Journal website.

Hospital leaders and infection prevention experts had similar takes on concerns that included the overall environmental hygiene of their institution and whether their hospitals were making progress at improving environmental hygiene.

More than 70% of hospital leaders and IPs characterizing their overall environmental hygiene as good or better, while 85% of C-suite respondents and 95% of IPs felt their hospitals were improving their environmental hygiene, the article said. 

Sixty-one percent of IPs and 55% of C-suite respondents said their facility's environmental service department does not receive adequate funding, however.
