Kansas City-area memory-care facility plans $7.5M expansion

Project will add new private and couples suites and skilled nursing and rehabilitation services

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is planning a $7.5 million expansion and renovation of Stratford Commons, a Kansas City-area memory-care community, according to an article on the Kansas City Business Journal website.

The 34,000-square-foot expansion will include 38 new private suites, four couples suites, a rehabilitation gym and a new dining area. Tutera will also renovate the existing property with upgrades to the existing dining area, kitchen and recreation areas.

As part of the expansion, Stratford Commons will add two additional levels of care for its residents: skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

“With the addition of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, Tutera will be able to offer a full continuum of care ... without requiring an initial large cash outlay by residents,”  Joe Tutera, Tutera Group Inc. CEO, said in the article.
