Kettering Health has opened a new hybrid operating room at Grandview Medical Center, making it the first of its kind for the medical center and the second for the network. The expansion includes 17 pre-and post-operative beds in addition to the operating room.
“By adding this hybrid suite to Grandview Medical Center, we’re ensuring people in our community have access to high-quality surgical care,” says Carol Pierce, the facility’s administrative director of nursing. “Our team can now take heart and vascular care to the next level with a state-of-the-art suite.”
The 7,300-square-foot space functions like a surgical suite with integrated radiology imaging, providing high-tech imaging with a lower dose of radiation to visualize the cardiovascular system. Surgeons have immediate access to these tools without having to move the patient.
