Kimmerle Group Promotes Two to Principal

Kimmerle Group (KG), a Harding and New York City-based multifaceted design, real estate planning, development and branding practice, has announced the promotion of two senior associate/senior project managers to principals. William J. Kimmerle, AIA and X. “Cindy” Cui, AIA bring demonstrated leadership and extensive experience across a broad range of projects to their new roles.

“These well-earned appointments recognize William and Cindy’s vital contribution to helping shape our firm’s continued growth and success,” said George J. Kimmerle, founder and president. “Both individuals have a strong commitment to our clients, our profession and to upholding the standards of excellence for which Kimmerle Group is known throughout our industry. We look forward to seeing both thrive in these expanded leadership roles.”

“Cindy and Bill have both consistently brought a high level of design skill and creativity to their work, along with high levels of technical ability. Both are researchers and constant learners, which are critical skillsets for an architect. And best of all, they are a treat to work with personally, both in the firm and with clients,” said Paul Newman, AIA, CID, vice president and partner of Kimmerle Newman Architects.

William Kimmerle joined KG in 2010 and contributes a leading voice to the firm’s medical, corporate, institutional and nonprofit practices; spearheaded the expansion of the firm’s procurement practice, Workspace; and leads the firm’s New York City division, Urban Studio. Over the past four years, he has expanded the studio’s regional footprint to serve a range of institutional and corporate clients in New York and the five boroughs, implementing theory through an expanded platform of planning and master planning services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies with a minor in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and his master’s degree in architecture as a graduate fellow at the Rhode Island School of Design. He was recently named to NJBIZ's 2017 “Forty Under 40” list in recognition of his achievements and contributions to the community.

Cui is a LEED-accredited professional who specializes in new construction, major renovations and has led KG in finishing several LEED buildings. With work experience that spans planning, architectural, urban design and interior design, she joined KG in 2005 and has worked in Europe, Asia and the United States on diverse projects ranging from hospital campus planning to small town redevelopment planning, office building design and construction management to high rise, mixed-use office towers. She is a graduate of the HeBei Institute of Technology in mainland China with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, and Kent State University with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture.
