Larco Coppershield and U-WAV Product Description

The onset of COVID-19 pandemic has caused a massive shift in the way facility managers and building owners view the current safety conditions of their facilities. Leadership must make a long-term commitment to the health and safety of building occupants by implementing solutions that prevent and kill bacteria and virus spread.

The Larco® Coppershield® automatic door push plate is made with CuVerro® antimicrobial copper. The surface material is registered by the EPA to kill more than 99.9 percent of bacteria, including MRSA, within two hours. A recent New England Journal of Medicine study also found that when influenzas, bacteria like E. coli, superbugs like MRSA, or even coronaviruses land on copper, and copper alloys like brass, they begin to die within minutes and are undetectable within hours 1.

Additionally, the Larco® U-WAV sensor switch is designed for touchless activation of automatic doors or lighting controls. It’s 0-15 adjustable range feature, makes it ideal for sterile environments such as operating rooms or clean rooms. The U-WAV provides a complete hygienic solution for many different applications. The Larco U-WAV touch-free switch features always on, blue LED backlighting uniquely designed to be aesthetically pleasing while providing reliable operation. It is composed of very durable ABS plastic. The U-WAV’s universal plate design fits most standard single gang electrical box sizes. FCC approved.
