Larson Electronics Releases 3PH Power Distribution System, 9 kVA, 480V to 208Y/120V AC

Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a 9 kVA power distribution station that converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current into three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This station allows operators to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power. This transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug that is provided.

The MGS-3X480.100A-9KVA-3X120.20A power distribution station utilizes a customer-provided, line-in cable to bring 480V three-phase power into the NEMA 3R 300-amp, 480V three-phase primary main circuit breaker panel that contains one 15-amp, 3-pole, 480V breaker and three 100-amp, 3-pole breakers, protecting three 100-amp, 480V, 4100R7W receptacles, and passes 480V three-phase through the transformer. This power distribution station is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters and an eyelet on the top for easy lifting.

The transformer converts 480V to 208Y/120V three-phase and passes it to the secondary panel. The secondary side feeds a NEMA 3R 100-amp, 208Y/120V three-phase main lug only panel, which contains three 20-amp, 1-pole, and 125V breakers that protect three 20-amp, 125V, 5-20R duplex GFCI receptacles. This transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16-inch thick carbon steel mounting platform, with the load center/distribution assembly mounted on a standard 2-inch by 2-inch by 1/8-inch square carbon steel tubing frame. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor use, construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds and more.
