Lawnwood Hospital Opens New Tower

With the new tower, Lawnwood will be able to keep pace with the growth in Fort Pierce for years to come.

After more than three years of planning and building, HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital has opened the new $100 million tower.

The first two floors of the four-story tower will add 32 medical surgical beds to the hospital, feature private rooms and offer spacious waiting and registration areas. Pre-operative and recovery areas also have been expanded, three operating rooms have been added, and additional parking spaces have been created. The third and fourth floors are designated as shell space for future growth. With a focus on accessibility and convenience, the design of the new tower is inviting to both patients and visitors.

The opening of the tower comes at a critical time, as many healthcare systems across the country, including Lawnwood, saw an increased number of patients fighting COVID-19 during the height of the pandemic.

As the only trauma center on the Treasure Coast, Lawnwood’s team of physicians, nurses and healthcare workers must be prepared to handle high volumes. With the new tower, advanced technology and a focus on patient-centered care, Lawnwood will continue to keep pace with the growth in Fort Pierce and surrounding communities.
