The facility is expected to open in winter 2026.

Ground has officially been broken for Lehigh Valley Health Network’s third neighborhood hospital.

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and community leaders gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction of Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Tannersville, expected to open in winter 2026.

The hospital is planned for a new health care campus on the site of the former Hunter Pocono Peterbilt truck dealership. It will be located less than 10 miles from LVH–Pocono, creating a healthcare hub in Monroe County.

LVHN’s two existing neighborhood hospitals – LVH–Macungie and LVH–Gilbertsville – are thriving and similar results are expected for LVH–Tannersville, to be located in Pocono Township. Another health services building, the Health Center at Tannersville, will be built on the same site as the neighborhood hospital and offer services including physician practices, adult rehabilitation, cardiology and more.

Neighborhood hospitals are licensed and accredited acute care facilities, with a full-service emergency room. They are open 24 hours a day, year-round. LVH–Tannersville, like its counterparts, will feature 11 ER beds and 10 inpatient beds for those requiring overnight stays or additional monitoring and testing.
