Lennox Commercial expands functionality of the Prodigy 2.0 Unit Controller on Energence Ultra and high-efficiency rooftop units

Lennox Commercial has expanded the functionality of the Prodigy 2.0 unit controller to be a standard feature on the Energence® ultra high-efficiency 15- and 20-ton units, as well as Energence units up to 25 tons.

“The Prodigy 2.0 unit controller is an intelligent and flexible system that makes setup, troubleshooting and servicing easier with a more intuitive interface,” said Farhad Abrishamkar, product manager, Lennox Commercial. “It is an even smarter tool for saving energy and extending the life of HVAC equipment.”

The Prodigy 2.0 unit controller features a larger display that shows more information in greater detail to simplify operation and maintenance. The SmartWire™ system simplifies installation with color-coded, keyed terminals with clearer labeling.  This reduces wiring mistakes considerably, leading to a more successful and efficient installation every time. Also, a patent-pending USB port allows technicians to download service reports and save unit configuration information.

“The redesigned controls make adjusting settings and parameters easier, while reducing accidental menu selections,” said Abrishamkar. “There is also a Help menu for easier service, maintenance and troubleshooting, and downloadable service reports that allow better diagnosis and aid in making ‘repair versus replace’ decisions.”

The Prodigy 2.0 unit controller’s compatibility with major automation protocols, BACnet® and LonWorks®, allows complete integration with most building management systems.  Notably, the free Prodigy 2.0 mobile app is available for smartphones or tablets and provides on-the-spot access to helpful troubleshooting resources. The Prodigy 2.0 app includes troubleshooting guides with instructional videos, product and technical FAQs and related technical documents from www.lennoxcommercial.com/landing/prodigy/.
