Lighthouse Guild to Host Alfred W. Bressler Vision Science Symposium and Pisart Award Lecture On Oct. 20-21


Lighthouse Guild, a not-for-profit vision and healthcare organization, will host the 2017 Alfred W. Bressler Vision Science Symposium and The Pisart AwardLecture at The University Club of New York, One West 54th Street (at 5th Ave.), onOctober 20-21, 2017. 

A pre-conference entitled “New Technologies for Patients with Vision Disorders,” will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, sponsored by Columbia University Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology and Lighthouse Guild.

Friday, October 20
8:30 am – 3:30 pm:  Pre-conference on “New Technologies for Patients with Vision Disorders.” Directed by Stanley Chang, MD, K.K. Tse and Ku Teh Ying Professor of Ophthalmology and Former Chair of Ophthalmology, Columbia University Medical Center, and Alan R. Morse, JD, PhD, President and CEO of Lighthouse Guild.

4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Pisart Award Lecture: “Ushering the Discovery of Molecular Therapies for Usher Syndrome, presented by Yoshikazu Imanishi, PhD.

Saturday, October 21
8:30 am - 12:30 pm:  Bressler Symposium on “Sensing Without Seeing: Advances in Non-Visual Ocular and Extraocular Photoreception”

12:30 - 2:30 pm:  Presentation of Bressler Prize and Pisart Award
