Patients were evacuated but no one was injured after a lightning strike at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla., according to an article on the Tampa Bay Business Journal website.
The situation also resulted in cancelled surgeries.
The 290-bed hospital was hit by lightning causing a power outage and failure of the backup generator system.
There also was an electrical fire in the generator room.
