Any renovation project comes with surprises, such as mechanical and electrical systems that had been modified in ways nobody knew about, or foundations or walls that unexpectedly require shoring up.  

When the team at Little Company of Mary Hospital (LCMH) in Evergreen Park, Ill., embarked on a campus transformation in 2009, they discovered a more meaningful surprise: a time capsule left by the women who founded the hospital in 1929.
