Maine hospital gets OK to build helipad despite concerns

Neighbors worried about noise from Blue Hill Memorial Hospital helipad


Blue Hill Memorial Hospital received the OK to build a helipad on it's Blue Hill, Maine, facility despite concerns from neighbors, according to an article on the WCS6 website.

Blue Hill is currently one of only a handful of hospitals in Maine without an on-site helipad. 

Neighbors have expressed concerns about the potential noise and safety hazards., but the hospital says it's working on ways to mitigate thsoe issues.

Right now Lifeflight helicopters trying to get patients to bigger hospitals in Bangor have to land on the town's pier.
