A man shouting ‘chemical warfare’ prompted the evacuation of the Yale New Haven Hospital emergency room and a hazardous materials investigation, according to an article on the Hartford Courant website.
None of the 35 people evacuated was injured, but three were isolated.
The incident began when a man stormed the emergency department at the New Haven, Conn., hospital and pulled a “contaminated towel” out of a backpack and threw it on a desk indicating it was “chemical warfare.”
Emergency crews responded to the scene and other precautions and protocols were activated to contain the situation.
