MaxLite releases StaxMAX LED high-output modules for hazardous locations

Lighting the toughest environments calls for durability and flexibility. MaxLite offers the best of both with its new UL 844-listed StaxMAX LED High-Output modules for hazardous locations.

The uniquely customizable fixtures are offered in flood and high bay versions rated for use in Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2) spaces, those in which flammable gases and vapors may produce ignitable mixtures such as petroleum refineries, gasoline storage and dispensing areas, dry cleaning plants, spray finishing areas, aircraft hangars and utility gas plants. Designed with three optical distributions and independently pivoting modules, the StaxMAX series allows consumers to create custom distribution packages by mixing modules on a single fixture. The fixtures mount using an arch yoke, high bay bracket or pole tenon accessory, providing multiple applications within a single facility.

The StaxMAX for hazardous locations can be specified in base modules of 135 watts, with up to three modules per fixture. Each of the modules can have a narrow, medium or wide beam angle, allowing users to have all three optics in one luminaire. In its highest configuration of 405 watts, the StaxMAX replaces a 1000-watt metal halide fixture.

“Adding an explosion-proof model to our popular StaxMAX Series gives the industry powerful custom lighting solutions for even the toughest environments,” said Product Manager Francisco Garza. “No other C1D2-rated product on the market offers multidirectional illumination and multiple beam angles from a single mounting point.”

The StaxMAX is offered in a correlated color temperature of 5000K and delivers from 13,460 to 47,490 lumens, depending on the configuration. A 4100K version is also available as a custom order. StaxMAX LED Flood Lights are constructed with a durable, die cast aluminum body that acts as a heat sink, enabling a long, L70-rated LED lifetime of 75,000 hours. Multiple circuits guard against full-module light outages, while a 4000-volt driver provides integral surge protection. The StaxMAX unit is IP65-rated to protect against dirt, dust and water ingress, while its cable connections are rated to IP67.
