MaxLite releases ballast-compatible LED U-bend lamp as plug-and-play replacement for fluorescent tubes

MaxLite expands its DirectFit line of ballast-compatible LED products with a T8 U-bend Lamp designed to upgrade fluorescent fixtures with energy-efficient lighting in a matter of seconds.

Suitable for use in totally enclosed, bi-pin socketed luminaires, such as 2-by-2 foot T8 U-bend fluorescent fixtures, the DirectFit U-bend Lamp plugs into the existing ballast without any extra labor or re-wiring. The 16-watt replacement lamp features a compact light engine that delivers 1,800 lumens using an extra wide, 320-degree beam angle. An integral driver is stored within the tube’s cap to optimize thermal performance and eliminate dark spots, allowing for bright, even illumination to run continuously from end to end of the U-shaped tube.

The DirectFit U-bend Lamp is compatible with most instant-start T8 ballasts. Offered in color temperatures of 3500K, 4000K and 5000K, the lamp delivers excellent color rendering with an 85-plus CRI. Each tube is rated to a lifetime of 50,000 hours at L70 standards and comes backed by MaxLite’s five-year limited warranty and lifetime product support.
