McCarthy Celebrates Groundbreaking of Latest Healthcare Project

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., one of the nation’s leading healthcare builders, today celebrated the groundbreaking of Kaiser Permanente’s Hesperia Medical Office Building. The 54,000 square foot medical office building is scheduled to open in 2021 and will include prefabricated elements including exterior and interior wall panels built to reduce the construction duration, meanwhile delivering quality healthcare to the high desert. Kaiser Permanente’s new three-story Hesperia Medical Office will provide convenient, affordable, high-quality health care to members in the High Desert.

Prior to breaking ground on the Kaiser Permanente Hesperia Medical Office Building project, McCarthy relocated fourteen endangered Joshua Trees, so they would not be impacted by the current phase of construction. As a part of McCarthy’s Joshua Tree Relocation Plan to preserve this endangered species, the trees were pre-watered in advance of their removal and then moved to their new locations to help mitigate impacts to Joshua trees and other desert plants resulting from development within the city limits.

To better serve members in the High Desert, the new medical office building will include 30 provider offices featuring primary and specialty care services, including Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Cardiology and Physical Therapy among many others. Additional on-site services such as a pharmacy and laboratory will also be a part of the new office building layout, providing advanced facilities and increased accessibility for patients and the surrounding area. The new medical office building will be located at 9550 Escondido Avenue west of the Walmart Supercenter in Hesperia.
