A patient barricaded himself in his room at Covenant HealthCare until officers gained entry with ballistic shields
Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, Mich., is reviewing its security policies after a patient fired a gun in his room, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.
The healthcare facility is reviewing patient handling policies and procedures.
No one was hurt in the incident and police later subdued the patient with a taser.
Staff members’ response to the situation is also being reviewed to determine if any changes need to be made. The hospital has since resumed normal operations.
