War Memorial Hospital recently completed its affiliation with MyMichigan Health, making the hospital the tenth Medical Center in the MyMichigan Health system. To reflect the hospital joining MyMichigan, War Memorial Hospital has changed its name to MyMichigan Medical Center Sault

The 49-bed hospital features 51 long-term care beds and 20 psych beds, and it employs more than 900 people and serves the Eastern Upper Peninsula by providing complete medical care including diagnostic services, emergency services, urgent care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, obstetrics, family medicine and many specialty services. MyMichigan Medical Center Sault has a long-term care facility attached to the main campus of the hospital and a standalone Behavioral Health Center in nearby Kincheloe, Michigan. MyMichigan Medical Center Sault also has many outpatient offices across the Eastern Upper Peninsula including lab, primary care and rehabilitation services.

In April 2021, the War Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees gave approval to move into a nonbinding letter of intent with MyMichigan following months of evaluating proposals from various health systems. A letter of intent was signed and an extensive due-diligence process was completed in October. Since that time, several integration meetings have taken place to begin the transition process to becoming a member of MyMichigan Health.
