N.J. hospital opens renovated emergency room

New Saint Peter's emergency room includes new flooring, updated facilities, private rooms, and three different care centers


Saint Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., recently opened its opens new 20,000-square-foot renovated emergency room that includes new flooring, updated facilities, private rooms, and three different care centers, according to an article on the Healthcare Construction + Operations website.

The new emergency room was renovated and expanded in hopes of creating shorter waiting times and giving patients a greater degree of privacy, the article said.

The project nearly doubled the size of the treatment areas.

The $17 million renovation was completed in five phases. The floor installment was divided into 20 sections of approximately 1,000 square feet each to avoid disturbing patient care.
