N.Y. healthcare facility parking garage collapses

A large chunk of concrete caved in on top of vehicles on the bottom level of the garage

A two-level parking garage collapsed Thursday afternoon at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, N.Y., leaving nearly two dozen vehicles trapped in the rubble, according to an article on the PressConnects website. No one died in the collapse, officials said.

A large chunk of concrete caved in on top of vehicles on the bottom level of the garage.

A structural engineer determined that the garage was not tied into the adjoining Picciano Building, which houses food preparation and other infrastructure.

Underground office space beneath the garage was closed.
