New Altitudes Torsion Spring ceiling system from Armstrong features monolithic visual with excellent acoustical performance

LANCASTER, PA — With introduction of the new Altitudes Torsion Spring custom ceiling system from Armstrong, architects and designers can now specify a monolithic visual in large-size panels that provide excellent acoustics and 100 percent downward accessibility.

The sag-resistant panels are available flat or curved in custom sizes up to 4 feet x 12 feet or 5 feet x 10 feet with or without upturns. Made from metal-framed fiberglass with a 1/8” reveal, the ceiling panels have an NRC of 0.85, absorbing 85 percent of the sound that strikes them.

Choice of Custom Colors and Fabrics

Altitudes Torsion Spring ceiling panels are available in a choice of custom colors and fabrics, including painted finishes from Sherwin-Williams paints or fabrics from Guilford of Maine®, Maharam®, Knoll®, Carnegie, Designtex®, and other manufacturers.

The fine-textured panels have a smooth, clean, durable finish that is resistant to the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. In standard white, the panels have an energy-saving, high light-reflective finish.

The panels are easily installed using torsion springs in a pre-slotted, standard 15/16” Prelude suspension system. They have a Class A fire rating and are seismic tested and approved.

Altitudes Torsion Spring ceiling panels are recommended for use in transportation, offices, lobby areas, auditoriums, and other applications where a large-scale, monolithic visual that is acoustical and accessible is desired.
