The new UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital and the UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., reflect the system's strategic plan to tailor care to individual patient needs in a humanistic, personalized manner, according to an article on the Gainesville Sun website.
In designing the new hospitals, UF Health first assessed the needs of its patients, and then worked with the architects to build spaces that fulfilled these needs.
Physicians, architects, nurses, engineers, administrators, contractors, equipment specialists and staff from diverse areas of specialization focused on designing an environment that supports sophisticated technology.
The project also included soothing spaces where patients could heal.
