New HCA Healthcare Texas Hospital Opening

Two-story building will be outfitted with new technology and increase education and simulation tools

By Chris Miller, Assistant Editor, Facility Market

The HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement opened in Pearland, Texas, in late July, according to the Houston Chronicle. Located in the Pearland Town Center, the new center is a training ground for HCA Healthcare staff, specifically nurses. The two-story building will be outfitted with brand new technology and will be used to increase education and simulation tools to expand the quality of its services.

The 48,400-square-foot center will include simulation labs using interactive mannequins, and diverse classrooms for the training and development of the different kinds of care the HCA Houston Healthcare system offers. The plan for this center is to train thousands of nurses through the facility every year. Pearland was selected due to its proximity to the main Houston center. The city is one of the fastest growing in the area in population, retail, business and residential development.

A free-standing emergency room is currently under construction and is projected to open sometime in 2022. HCA Houston Healthcare has 13 hospitals in the greater Houston area, including level 2 trauma centers, 12 free-standing 24/7 emergency rooms, 18 Care Now locations, 10 surgery centers, orthopedic and mammography centers, and AirLife transport helicopter services. The HCA Houston Healthcare system has facilities in Pasadena, Pearland, Webster, Texas City, Friendswood, League City and Alvin. In all, the system has over 100 types of care.
