The 110-bed, four-story Orlando Health Center for Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing facility with a hotel feel, according to an article on the Orlando Sentinel website.
The facility has a lot of angles and curves and relied on evidence-based design practices. For instance, the Alzheimer’s care area is designed in a figure eight so that patients can wander endlessly, something that patients with memory loss often do.
It will feature 60 beds on the top two floors for patients who need short-term rehab.Ten beds on the second floor for inpatient hospice care, and 40 beds on the first floor for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
The building has a therapy gym for outpatient rehab and in-house patients, and eventually will have a therapy garden outside.
