New WoodWorks Shapes for DESIGNFlex Offer More Options for Reinventing the Ceiling Plane

With the addition of new WoodWorks® Shapes ceiling panels to its offering of DESIGNFlex™ Ceiling Systems, Armstrong Ceiling Solutions is giving architects and designers more options for reinventing the ceiling plane.

Formerly available only as custom panels, WoodWorks Shapes for DESIGNFlex are now available in standard 45-degree and 60-degree triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids, offering the warmth and character of wood in popular geometric panels without custom lead times.

WoodWorks Shapes are available in 13 standard real wood veneer finishes, including Natural Variations™ Beech, Maple, Light Cherry, Dark Cherry, Walnut, Oak, and Walnut Espresso; Constants™ Maple, Cherry Walnut and Redux Wood Wheat; and Patina and Native Bamboo, along with custom finishes.

Online Pattern Gallery

An online DESIGNFlex Pattern Gallery features a variety of pre-designed patterns that can be created using different WoodWorks Shapes ceiling panels and finishes.

WoodWorks Shapes Tegular ceiling panels have been seismically tested for installation with a heavy-duty Suprafine® XM suspension system, which was developed especially for the angled ceiling panels. The panels are manufactured to ensure that the direction of the grain runs parallel with the grid main beam, ensuring a consistent visual. All the necessary clips and safety accessories are included and shipped with the panels.

In addition to WoodWorks Shapes, some patterns feature WoodWorks Tegular squares and rectangles that can be viewed with a new online tool that offers made-to-order options in all available sizes, perforations, and finishes.

WoodWorks Shapes, squares and rectangles can be mixed and matched with other DESIGNFlex panels, including Calla®, Lyra®, Ultima®, Optima® and MetalWorks™, adding wood to the unique combination of sizes, shapes, colors, and materials that are available with DESIGNFlex Ceiling Systems.

Integrated Lighting and Diffusers

A cohesive look can be created with linear lighting systems that are compatible with DESIGNFlex Ceiling Systems. Shaped lighting elements and diffusers that integrate seamlessly with DESIGNFlex Shapes are available from Armstrong Ceilings partners Axis Lighting and Price® Industries. In addition, lighting partner JLC Tech has developed a T-Bar Flex LED™ lighting element, which replaces the cross tees in the suspension system with light, providing uniform lighting design.
