New certification issued for janitors helping to fighting COVID-19

The course covers infection control, proper cleaning procedures, documentation and communication and worksite safety precautions. It also defines cleaning and disinfecting

Building Service Contractors Association International has just released a new certification for janitorial workers fighting to improve safety and protect against COVID-19.

By completing the COVID-19 Disinfection and Safety Course, individuals will earn a certificate of completion from BSCAI. Many companies have developed training that covers safety and disinfecting techniques. However, BSCAI claims that its course is the only one that provides a certificate of completion to each employee.

Developed in conjunction with Steve Ashkin, founder and CEO of Sustainability Dashboard Tools and The Ashkin Group, the course has passed contractor peer review and possesses the technical accuracy needed to meet the expectations of customers, says BSCAI. The training provided in the course follows Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.

The course covers infection control, proper cleaning procedures, documentation and communication and worksite safety precautions. It also defines cleaning and disinfecting.
