An Oklahoma nursing home is reviewing its security procedures after thieves targeted it twice in a month to steal narcotics, according to an article on the McKnight's Long-term Care website.
Thieves climbed through the outside office window at the Artesian Home in Sulphur and took more than 200 doses of norco, nearly 100 doses of Oxycontin, and similar amounts of morphine and Xanax, along with a handful of fentanyl patches.
The facility said following the incidents it changed the locks, and encouraged staff to stay alert.
The challenge for facility administrators is increasing security but avoiding adding bars or over-the-top security measures, a facility spokesperson said.
