Ohio healthcare facility announces five-year sustainability plan

The plan has a range of social, environmental and economic goals divided into eight categories


OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio, has adopted a new five-year sustainability plan, according to an article on The Athens News website.

The plan has a range of social, environmental and economic goals divided into eight categories.

They include energy reduction and renewables, water use and protection, waste reduction and recycling, healthy living and foods, local and sustainable purchasing, green building, greenhouse gas emissions, and communication & education.

The plans include upgrading to energy-saving windows, creating a bike check-out system, promoting carpooling, and installing at least two electric vehicle (EV) chargers on the hospital property, according to a copy of the plan distributed at the event.
