Stillwater Medical Center's plans for an $11 million medical clinic and a $3 million fitness and therapy center reflects the healthcare industry's outpatient trends, according to an article on the Sun Herald website.
The new 50,000-square-foot clinic in Stillwater, Okla., will house six pediatricians and 18 exam rooms, as well as accounting and billing offices. Part of the building will remain undeveloped to allow for future expansion.
The development follows a nationwide trend of expansion following the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
More hospitals are shifting the focus to outpatient treatment because is less costly and technology has advanced to allow patients to be safely treated and released the same day.
