PM Pediatrics and Children's Health Announce Fourth Pediatric Urgent Care Practice in North Texas

Children’s Health, the eighth largest pediatric health care provider in the nation and the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, and PM Pediatrics, the nation’s largest provider of specialized pediatric urgent care, announced the opening of a Richardson location, its fourth PM Urgent Care practice in North Texas here today. Located at 1291 West Campbell Road, Suite 100, the new practice opened Feb. 12 and joins Children’s Health PM Urgent Care locations in McKinney, The Colony and Flower Mound. Children’s Health PM Urgent Care has plans to open additional urgent care practices in North Texas in 2020.

PM Pediatrics is headquartered in New Hyde Park, NY.

“As the North Texas population continues to grow at a rapid pace, we are committed to providing pediatric care close to home, when families need it most,” said David Berry, president of system clinical and scientific operations at Children’s Health. “We understand and recognize the need for pediatric urgent care practices are greater than ever before. Providing four options for specialized pediatric care is just one of the many ways we are committed to making life better for children.”

Children’s Health PM Urgent Care is open 365 days a year from noon to midnight to treat non-life-threatening common illnesses and injuries in newborn through college-age patients. Dedicated solely to the treatment of children and young adults, the practice is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and pediatricians, and features an onsite digital X-ray, EKG machine and laboratory. Common conditions treated include fever, infections, wounds requiring stitches, fracture management and respiratory care. The practice also treats dehydration, which is particularly important during cold and flu season and when treating heat-related illnesses.

“The need for pediatric urgent care in this growing part of Texas is evident by how quickly the community has embraced our additional practices that opened in 2018 and earlier this year,” said Steve Katz, co-founder of PM Pediatrics. “We saw over 13,000 children and young adults in 2019 and this year expect to see close to 30,000. Alongside Children’s Health, we look forward to providing our unparalleled specialized care to the families in the Richardson area.”
