Piedmont Newnan Hospital Breaks Ground on New Tower

Construction is estimated to be completed in 2024.

By HFT Staff

Piedmont Newnan Hospital broke ground on the first phase of its $65 million South Tower expansion project, which includes adding 80,000 square feet and 50 new patient beds. The first phase will consist of three levels that will connect to the hospital, with the structure designed to support five future additional floors.

The Newman, Georgia, hospital has previously expanded the current facility, growing from 136 beds to 167 beds, but it remains full. The South Tower project will add 50 beds, with the intent to build additional floors in future phases and is the most significant investment Piedmont has made in Coweta County since building this new hospital almost 10 years ago.

Construction is estimated to be completed in spring 2024. Once complete, the hospital’s capacity will increase from its current licensed bed count of 167 to 217 licensed beds.
